National School Psychology Week

This week we are honoring our phenomenal School Psychologists through the celebration of National School Psychology Week!

This year’s theme, “Spark Discovery,” recognizes the work that school psychologists do to help their communities seek out new ideas, effect change, and expand horizons for children and youth.

Our School Psychologists are critical in providing support for our students, staff, and community! They work directly with our students to ensure they are receiving the necessary guidance and interventions.

We are so incredibly grateful for the wonderful team of School Psychologists we have at the AVUHSD and thank every single one of them for their unwavering dedication to each student they serve!

What Do School Psychologists Do?

“School psychologists provide direct support and interventions to students; consult with teachers, families, and other school-employed mental health professionals (i.e., school counselors, school social workers) to improve support strategies; work with school administrators to improve school-wide practices and policies; and collaborate with community providers to coordinate needed services.”
