The competitions of the SkillsUSA Championships are created and judged by the industry to ensure that students are learning the real-world skills employers demand from entry-level professionals.

Antelope Valley Adult Education is pleased to announce the success of its SkillsUSA chapter and Information Technology Interns in the Post-Secondary Division! Congratulations!

  • 1st Place- Gold – Career Pathway Showcase in Information Technology
    • The student’s project was TechCraft, an IT Adventure series using Minecraft to educate elementary students about IT careers and learning.
    • TechCenter Interns – Matthew Marchand, Brian Gonzalez, Andrew Bashor
  • 1st Place- Gold – Community Service
    • The student’s project was ElderTech, teaching senior citizens to be self-sufficient using their smartphones for everyday life and independence with a targeted bilingual audience.
    • TechCenter Interns – Mayra Lopez, Penelope Luna, Magali Garcia
