Quartz Hill Cheer Stuns During Halftime Performance at AV ALTA FC Match
Cheering for hometown pride and the love of the beautiful game, the Quartz Hill Cheer squad executed an incredible halftime performance during an AV Alta FC match on Saturday at Lancaster Municipal Stadium!
The team sprung into action coming off the heels of their cheer camp to prepare their routine in about four practices. The halftime show gave the girls the opportunity to perform in front of the community and give a quick preview of what’s ahead of them for football season this fall.
During the first half of the game, cheerleaders lined the stands of the stadium supporting the AV Alta players and interacting with the crowd. Leading up to the performance, the team experienced some nerves, but they were mostly overcome with excitement.
“I was just excited to perform with my team and finally execute what we’ve been practicing hard at,” said Quartz Hill Junior Cierra Gibson. “Just the experience of being able to perform at halftime like this is nice.”
As halftime began, the squad tumbled across the field and performed exciting stunts while fans cheered them on from the stands. Off the field, their supporters stopped them to wish them a job well done on their routine.
“I think hearing everyone cheer, that’s the most exciting thing. It’s like okay, maybe we’re actually doing pretty good,” said Quartz Hill Junior Addison Hull.
Quartz Hill Cheer Coach Tiffany Recinos says this opportunity came with a chance for a percentage of ticket sales made through a designated link going towards raising funds for the squad.
“I hope this sticks around and they keep doing it every year because it’s a fun experience so far, and we sold over 200 tickets I believe, so it’s a nice little chunk that comes back to us,” said Ms. Recinos.
We were ecstatic to see these students represent the district in front of the Antelope Valley community and can’t wait to see more of your hard work and passion this fall!
