THE EASTSIDE SOUND is out NOW!
In May, Eastside High School’s Sound Engineering 2 Class showcased their finished eight-song EP entitled The Eastside Sound. This project was produced, performed, and written by Eastside High School students and features various genres and musical styles.
In the true spirit of collaboration, the cover art for this project was created by a Digital Media student, and the spoken word poetry included in the first song was written by three Creative Writing students.
This compilation features a song called “The Whole AV” that was produced by Eastside students who were able to do virtual recordings with student performers from Palmdale High School, Pete Knight High School, and Antelope Valley High School.
As the first of its kind, the Eastside Sound sets a precedent for what can be accomplished with ambition, passion, and teamwork. Thank you to Eastside Principal Blake Stanford for helping with recognizing and awarding students who had essential roles in this large collaborative effort and Career and Technical Education Coordinator Duane Robertson for his support with this project.
A special thank you to the industry professionals who helped guide students through the entire process: Stewart Tuttle, lead engineer and owner of The Altar Studios in Hollywood, and Grammy Award winning and Diamond Certified producer MyGuyMars.
Congratulations to the extraordinary students who participated in the creation of this album! This collaborative project is a way for students to celebrate the culture and pride in their school. The Eastside Sound is now available on streaming.
